The Frontier Press Association is a growing network of independent local news organizations across the American West.

Frontier Press is being built to connect independent newspapers, news outlets and publishers that believe strong local journalism is essential to healthy communities. Our goal is to create opportunities to share resources, ideas and experience while preserving the independence that makes local journalism local.

We’re developing practical resources and tools for independent news organizations and exploring ways to strengthen connections among publishers, journalists and the communities they serve.

Frontier Press currently includes Ouray County Plaindealer, Moab Sun News, Rio Blanco Herald Times, Sanpete Messenger, Southern Utah News, Uzona Media, and World Journal, and we’re beginning to connect with other independent news and publishing organizations throughout the region.
